WALGREENS DEALS THIS WEEK 6/16/2011

I have had lots of good luck this week at Walgreens.

This week at Walgreesn The Bayer is on sale for $3.00 you get a $1.00 register reward and there was a $2.00 off coupon in last Sundays paper.  (ring as separate transaction to get 2 $1.00 rewards)

REGISTER REWARDS ARE COUPONS OFF YOUR NEXT PURCHASE AT WALGREENS THAT PRINT AT THE REGISTER WHEN YOU BY CERTAIN ADVERTISED PRODUCTS

"WALGREENS CASH"

CVS ALSO DOES THIS AND CALLS THEM CVS BUCKS
Ok, now Roll those rewards you got on the Bayer to get the Walgreen's Allergy Medicine for $3.99 and then you will get a $4.00 register reward (ring separately to get two rewards)

Roll $4.00 rewards to get Air Wick starter kits (not pictured already opened) regular $14.99 on sale$7.99. Use the $4.00 off coupon from the paper 6/5. Then get $3.00 in store rewards.

Roll the $3.00 reward to pay for The Proglide razor which is on sale $9.89, use the $4.00 off coupon that was in the paper a few weeks ago (6/5) and you get a $5.00 store reward.

Last but not least the three pair of knee-high and a lip gloss pictured above I got off the clerance rack, and paid .12cent for all 4 items. Had to redeem 1 one dollar register reward before it expired.

At the end of the day and I have $8.00 left in register rewards for next week.
(started with a few from the week before)
LOVE TO SHOP AT WALGREEN'S NOW THAT I LEARNED HOW TO WORK THE REGISTER REWARDS.

Trick to Walgreens: you can use a register reward and a coupon on any item you just have to have an equal amount of products as you have coupons. So you may need to add a candy bar or a small clearance item to make sure your coupons and products are equal. We call these fillers.
  HAVE FUN OUT THERE!!

Where Do I Get My Coupons?

Getting a good stock of coupon is the key to your savings, but where do you get those coupons?

#1 spot goes to the Sunday paper.   (buy 2)
#2 Printing coupons from the internet.

Plus:
Look for the  ALL YOU magazine only sold at Wal-Mart. It's about $2 pays for itself.
On products your already buying as a peel-off or a hang tag on the cap.
Attached to shelfs as tare pads or the little red machines from Smart Source.
Store flyers/weekly circular.

*I like to get coupons in pairs, this way when it's Buy 1 Get 1Free, you can use both coupons for the best savings.

Have fun but, DON'T take all the coupons leave some for your neighbors.

STARTING THE BINDER SYSTEM FOR YOUR COUPONS

GETTING STARTED, YOUR GOING TO NEED A FEW THINGS FIRST.

1.) Three Ring Binder (I prefer a zipper binder)
2.) Tabbed Dividers (25 or so)
3.) Baseball card sleeves, holding 9 cards works best for me (I have 100)

Optional
I also have 5 tabs for my favorite stores, where I also keep a copy of the store coupon policy.
(be sure to check the policy often, you never know when a store may make a change)

My Categories:

1.) Produce/Meat                                      16.) Hair Care
2.) Dairy                                                        17.) Tooth Care
3.) Cereal/ Oatmeal                                   18.) Soap/Body Wash/Lotion
4.) Condiments/Salad Dressing            19.) Make-Up
5.) Pasta/Rice                                             20.) Deodorant/Razors
6.) Canned Goods                                       21.) Feminine Hygiene
7.) Snacks: cookies/chips                       22.) Baby
8.) Baking                                                     23.) Pet
9.) Drinks                                                     24.) Bread/Bakery
10.) Freezer                                                25.) Misc/Household
11.) Laundry                                               26.) Restaurants
12.) Surface Cleaners
13.) Dish Washing
14.) Air Fresheners/Candles
15.) Paper Products/Trash Bags

It's OK if you have to fold your coupons to fit in the sleeves, the stores still take them if they have a crease.

Do you take your binder to the store with you or not?

I do not, I use a regular white envelope to list the items I am going to the store for with my coupons inside. YES, I could miss an unexpected sale, but I am less like to buy items not on my list.

My best friend however take hers all the time and probably saves more then I do.

It's just a matter of what works for you. BEST WISHES SHOPPING!!

A GOOD CUTTING TOOL

A good cutting tool can be your best friend. Here are some of the options I use. It varies depending on how many coupons I am cutting or the size of a mailing or pamphlet. I have an envelope opener, a mini paper cutter from my scrapbooking supplies, a pair of every day scissors and the green paper cutter which I found at the store with the gift wrap, all of these tools get the job done. I tend to use the purple envelope opener the most. I find the scissors make my fingers sore if I have a lot to cut out. I have also seen people use a razor blade placing a cutting board down first. I haven't tried that but it looks like it would work great especially with bulk cutting. HAVE FUN CLIPPING YOUR SAVINGS!!

June's Coupon Insert Schedule

This month looks great with coupons every week!!

June

5th:  Smart Source, P & G, Red Plum
12th: Red Plum, Smart Source
19th: Red Plum, Smart Source
26th: Red Plum, Smart Source

Got this for a WHOOPING seven cent.

CVS still has some of there cosmetics on clearance 50%-75% off. I got this mascara for 7 pennies. It was 75% off and I had a coupon for $2.00 off any Revlon product. I also got my daughter a New York mascara for $2.00. If you have a CVS nearby, you still might be able to score a few deals.

Coupon Stacking

Today I had the best luck with coupon stacking, that is when you use a manufacture coupon with a store coupon. The cashiers don't seem to like it to much because if you have more coupons then you have products they have to call over a customer service manager for a key. However today I went to Publix with my stack of coupons. There Spring Saving Flyer has coupons for $1.00 off Degree Deodorant, 75 cent off Caress, and 55 cent off Suave Body Wash coupons. I combined these with two Buy 1 get 1 Free coupons on Suave, two Buy 1 Get 1 on Degree, and one 75 cent off Degree which I got two weeks ago from the Sunday paper.
           Total price $35.86
             -coupons $26.36
 my price  w/tax$ 9.50.
Very excited. Here in Florida we don't have stores that double coupons so it's a little harder to get free deodorant or free body wash but the Suave and 4 of the Degree were just 50 each. The Caress is where I spent the most money even with my four 75 cent off coupons. AT LEAST WE WILL NOT SMELL BAD THIS SUMMER!!

25 CENT CAN STILL GET YOU SOMETHING THESE DAYS

Another great day of savings. Smart Water 25 cent each at Walgreen's on sale 3 for $3.00 and I had six 75 cents off coupons. I used three on my first trip and then went back and got three more. I am a little uncomfortable still with the looks the cashiers and store employees give you when you hand over your coupons. Why are they so sassy it's not like I am stealing. Plus I got the toothpaste for 25 cent each.

Tea Party

My oldest daughter hosted a Mother's Day tea party for her Grandmother and I. It was so cute. My oldest daughter was having an emotional breakdown during the party but even with her sadness we still managed to have a good time and then watched a couple of girl movies and treated our selfs to a few spa treatments. Over all it ended up being a fun evening of girl time. I love my two girls so much.

MY CVS QUEST

So now that I felt like I was a pro just after one simple trip. I thought I would try CVS and see if I could score. First I went to the store and scoped out what was on sale, scanned my CVS card and got a coupon for $3.00 off any $10.00  and cosmetic purchase. So I went home and compared my coupons with the sales. For a rocking 8.99 before tax. I got all the great stuff in the pic. LOOK WHAT A LITTLE PLANNING CAN GET YOU!!

I'm Hooked!

ONCE YOU FALL UPON A GREAT DEAL YOUR HOOKED

The beginning, my first BIG deal

The beginning of my addiction started with just watching TLC's Extreme Couponing and thinking I can do that. So I spent a few hours over the next few days finding all these great website that teach you everything you need to know, BUT the real hook came when I fell upon my first real bargain. I went to the store with the intent to get two or three items but I found a store display full of coupons. (I was so excited)

The simple things in life make me so happy.

When all was said and done I got 14 bags of Knorr Sides for .20 cent each, and pasta for .35 cents. I left the store spend $11.47 for $51.15 worth of goods and it was so easy. I AM HOOKED!
